How the test works
Every applicant sits the SET, a multiple-choice English and maths test, in September. Children who reach the required standard are invited to a second stage of written English and maths papers: one shared by Nonsuch and Wallington High School for Girls, and one shared by Sutton Grammar, Wallington County Grammar and Wilson's.
How places are given
Second-stage scores decide offers, applied under each school's admissions policy (some reserve places for applicants living nearby or for disadvantaged children). A good score does not guarantee a place.
How to register and apply
Register through the Sutton grammar schools' admissions process between May and July of Year 5, and name the schools on your secondary application by 31 October.
